The use of hard and soft wearables ranging from clothes to metal prosthetics, inspired the design of a new generation of wearable technologies which are not only efficient but also respective to the human body. Recent research on hydrogels and fluid machines and structures suggests that soft and more fluid materials can replace the hard components in existing wearable technologies. This series of prototypes is an exploration of possible materials, behaviors and shapes for the future of wearables, which also links back machines to their original core element, silicone.
